What do you this of this new fatwa?
A prominent Egyptian imam has issued a ‘fatwa’ or religious edict forbidding Muslims from participating in a general strike against rising food prices on Sunday.
Imam Sheikh Yusuf al-Badr from Islamic university of al-Azhar in Cairo, said “He who wants to stop work is the first to spread corruption because he does not think in the interests of the country, but rather wants to impose his ideas and thinks that others are wrong.” and “But now, I am explaining what Islam says. To stay at home and leave the streets empty is a perversion imported from abroad,”
